Dr. NADESAN SUNDARESAN
Global Achievement Award for contributions in the field of Tamil Language, Culture and Heritage - Citation
"Neither vociferous eloquence nor physical prowess can ever hope to outwit those who have drunk deep of the perennial springs of wisdom known as quatrains and couplets." (Naladi, Irandadi Katravarmun Vayadi, Kaiyadi Ahadhe)
He is a complete creation of the Almighty — a package of absolute intelligence and education, drowned deep in the nectar of Tamil.
Born on our own soil, in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, he became a peripatetic, making a deep presence in Sri Lanka, Australia, and India.
Educated in engineering in India and abroad, he slowly gravitated toward his innate passion: Tamil.
He distinguished himself as an engineer in Bengaluru and Melbourne, working in various multinational firms — and had the courage to live by his conscience, serving refugees and asylum seekers.
From engineering, his inner urge told him that something else was more important. He became an accredited interpreter and translator, earning him the award of "Best in Both."
His work among the Tamil Hindu community all over the world is remarkable. He was the architect of establishing Thiruvalluvar statues all over the Western world, and he has been a pioneer in organising countless Tamil conferences, seminars, community events, and publishing magazines and journals.
The World Tamil University in the United States of America conferred upon him a Doctor of Letters for his contribution to Tamil language, culture, and heritage.
He lived a life true to the words of wisdom: "Determination is the wake-up call to your human will."
It is our privilege to bestow this Citation of Appreciation for your achievements.
